Harvest Time at Copper Horse Vineyard:

The harvest has started early this year, again.

Last Monday we harvested almost a ton of Viognier and, on Wednesday, 2/3 of a ton of Syrah.

It took 6 peoples 9 hours to harvest the Viognier, and only 4 hours to harvest the Syrah.

Then there is the 1.5 hours drive to Willcox, to the winery owned by Cochise Wine Company, where we'll custom crush our grapes.

I got bitten 3 times by red ants. Gina got bitten 4 times. Those little suckers can really hurt.

In a fortnight we'll harvest the Grenache and the Mourvedre.

We are looking at more helpers. It's too long and too hard.

Les vendanges ont commencé de nouveau tôt cette année.

Lundi dernier nous avons récolté presque 500Kg de Viognier, et, mercredi, autour de 300Kg de Syrah.

Cela a pris 9 heures à 6 personnes pour le Viognier et 4 heures pour le Syrah.

Puis il y a une heure et demi de route pour Willcox où nous presserons nos raisins à l'établissement vinicole de Cochise Wine Company.

Je me suis fait mordre 3 fois par des fourmis rouges. Gina 4 fois. Ces petites bestioles peuvent vraiment faire mal.

Dans une quinzaine, nous récolterons le Grenache et le Mourvedre.

Nous aimerions trouver de l'aide pour la récolte parce que cela prend trop de temps.
