Another Silver medal for CHV Sangiovese 2016
We got the letter below this morning from the Hilton Head International Wine Competition in South Carolina, letting us know we got the Silver medal for our Sangiovese 2016.
Two competitions, two medals…not bad!
“Copper Horse Vineyard,

On behalf of the Hilton Head Wine & Food Festival, along with our International Wine Competition Committee, we would like to thank you for participating in our 2018 Competition on Hilton Head Island. The success of the Hilton Head Island Wine & Food Festival relies greatly on our participating wineries which through the years have made our Competition and Festival one of the most prestigious on the east coast. In this, our 33rd year, our judges for the International Wine Competition judged hundreds of entries from all over the world. The festival’s judges were hand selected for their expertise and contributions to the food and beverage industry. In addition, all of our judges hold a certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers, Society of Wine Educators, International Sommelier Guild, or Wine and Spirits Education Trust (with many holding more than one certification). Many of the judges choose to return year after year because of the incomparable experience, interaction with other industry professionals, and dedication of the festival’s staff and volunteers. Last, it has come to our attention that many people are not aware that the judging competition provides the largest amount of money to our scholarship fund each year. In the last five (4) years we have given over $54,000 in scholarships to students at local colleges for the Hotel, Restaurant Management Training programs. Once again, we thank you for your participation in this year’s competition. We look forward to your future participation in 2019 when we celebrate the 34th anniversary of the Hilton Head Island Wine & Food Festival.
